Om
The Om symbol commonly associated with the religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism.
In Hinduism, Om (ॐ) is known as the Pranava, or the “breath of life,” and represents Brahman, the ultimate reality. In Buddhism, Om is often used as a sacred syllable in mantras, most notably in “Om Mani Padme Hum.” In Sikhism, the related symbol ੴ (Ik Onkar) represents the oneness of God and is central to Sikh theology. In Jainism, Om serves as a shorthand for the Pañca-Parameṣṭhi, the five supreme beings.
